Geek Squad Scam?

Just got an email message supposedly from PayPal stating I will be billed for $649.99 for a payment to Geek Squad for Norton protection. Never ordered this. Please confirm if this is a scam.

Check if you had a subscription set up...
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments''.

If its a spoof, NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

The Geek Squad scam is at it again. If PayPal issues one cent to them, I will report to the OAG

Phone #s not permitted] Regards Billing Team FOR MORE INFORMATION OPEN A PDF FOLDER TO REVIEW 1 File396kB PDF396kB Support Invoice 2020.pdf Download The phone numbers are of google phone or the what’s up app. The pdf file is blank unreadable calling the number is a laughable no information of legal department mailing addresses or federal tax ID number. Scam their is no Spof email for geeks squad.
