Hack attempt? Unrequested Security Codes

I think someone is trying to hack into my account.  A week ago, I got two texts in the middle of the night from Paypal.  It was a security code that was to expire in 10 minutes.  I went into my account confirmed nothing happened and changed my password to a  new unique strong one. Now this morning, I got another text from Paypal with the same message and a security code.  I went into my account, confirmed nothing happened and changed my security questions to tougher ones no one would know. I also set a new longer PIN.

What's going on and is there anything else I should do?

My security code requests came fro[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]  2 last week and 3 just now.  This shows Balcones Heights, San Antonio, TX.  How do we make them stop?

Hi @Shacky and @lahall,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been targeted by a fraudster trying to access your account. If you've run a virus scan on your computer, changed passwords to a unique password on no other website, and are using a secure connection, you're doing all the right things. If you continue to be targeted, a last step you might consider is changing the email address that you use with your account and removing the old email address entirely. Since the person will be trying to log in with that information, removing it from the account is like moving to a new address - the fraudster won't know where to find you.

I would definitely recommend the other steps first, however.

I hope this helps!

Olivia
