Background: the $5 Paypal/Ebay football battery finally died and I wanted to replace it with another 2FA system. I saw the "Symantec VIP Access" authenticator was available for both desktop and mobile and installed it on desktop. I couldn't find a way to enter the Paypal QR code into the desktop app. I then downloaded the mobile app and was able to set it up.
I do 99% of my Paypal activity on the desktop. The "Symantec VIP Access" desktop app shows a window with its "Credential ID" and ever-changing "Security Code".
Can I register to use the desktop app by entering the "Security Code" somewhere in Paypal? Some old pages on the internet suggest that a person can enter two consecutive security codes and register the app that way, but I don't see where to do that in Paypal.
