Hey, I got an email stating that the monthly money transfer (of my paypal money to my bank) was done today. But I notice that there was a US $5 fee. In the past, there was no such fee for monthly automatic money transfers, so why/how has this changed now? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Exactly the same problem over here, They even decided to make a currency exchange on the amount I had on my balance in USD when I clearly didn't request it, Which clearly breaks their ''Currency conversion choices'' Terms of Service .. I have never had such a problem with PayPal before which is Why I find this completely weird. First Make money off me Transferring the funds to my debit card and then charging a fee of EGP 79 when it is supposed to be for free. There's something wrong, I'm from Egypt btw.

Yes, paypal did a currency change as well, and I'm not sure why this was done, since this is automatically done by my bank before the money enters my account physically. So, if paypal wants to "claim" that they are charging me for the money conversion, then I will politely clarify this with them. And I know someone else might think to themselves, it's just US$5, but my opinion of the matter is that I worked hard for my monies, so I need to account for every cent of it. So, Abraham and Catalina, my plan is to contact paypal using their 'contact us page'.

https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/contact-us

And that's the link above. I think there is a 'message us' or 'message center' option at the bottom of the page. And there is a 'Call us" option too, but weirdly enough, this option sometimes disappears and you only see the 'message center' option instead, depending on which 'Help page' you click on. I messaged them already, but there is no agent available now, so I'll check again later. But, I assume that once you message them, whenever an agent becomes available, they will respond. So, I don't have to keep re-sending the message over and over again until someone replies. Anyways, I hope that you guys get answers as well (or...someone responds to this thread with much needed answers). Bless.

It is super weird. They haven't mentioned anything about charging a fee, God with their way now Other payments options sound so much cheaper lol

Same problem here, deduction of $5 dollars as fees when it is automatic transfer which is supposed to be free.
Weird thing is i received 2 emails at almost the exact minute. one with the "automatic transfer" in the subject and when i opened the email, there is no deduction fees and everything seems normal, and then a moment later i receive another email with the "transfer" in subject without the "automatic" word with it, when i opened it, i saw i have $5 dollars deducted. So i login to paypal account to see which is right, and found out that yeah there is a deduction without any reason. and why cant we contact support in an easier way like other normal online banking websites?
BTW, i'm from Egypt as well.

I received the same amount of emails '' Your automatic transfer was successful '' '' Automatic transfer is no longer pending '' '' Your transfer request is processing '' '' Your transfer was successful ''.. Issue here is , the first one i got had the amount I had in USD with no problems, On the later ones they decided to charge the fee and do a currency exchange... Did they convert the currency into EGP as well or only charged the fee?

i dont see any info about currency conversion in my account or emails, the only new thing is the $5 fee, should i look somewhere else to find out? my local bank has the local currency not a dollar account. so when money from paypal is transferred, it is converted but after the transfer not before.. so i'm not really sure.

My bank exchanges it aswell for me, but not this time. PayPal did it for me for some reason without my consent nor requesting it. They decided that 1 USD is 15.25 EGP, My bank exchange it for 15.7. Also charged a fee of EGP 79 .. -_-

The mockery is, they charged EGP 79 and used our local currency exchange rates of Egp 15.8 per 1 dollar, they didn't even do it using their 15.25 lol
