phantom "friends"

Yesterday I went to send money to a friend, there were seven names unknown to me along with the three people I send money to via PayPal.

I called PayPal to report this and was told they were there in error and they would be removed.

Today they're still there.

I'd like to report this via email, but PayPal Help won't take email without transaction info, which doesn't exist.

This is making me very uneasy, as I don't want those people to have any connection with my account.

What can I do?

You should be able to remove them yourself, go to send / request money > request money > 'more' top right > on create an invoice click get started > then click on SETTINGS top of page and use the drop down box to click on address book. You should be able to delete them in there.

Thank you, but these names show up on the Send Money page, not in the Address Book.  PayPal customer support advised the same thing; there were two names in the Address Book I didn't recognize, and deleted, but none of the seven unknown names on the Send Money page (colored circles with initials).  I'd really like to see them gone.

ok just been into my Paypal account and found out how to delete them.

Go to send / request > send money > UNDER the round circles is 'manage contacts' > click on that and they come up in a list > click on each of the names that you want to remove and it comes up with a box and under send / request is REMOVE CONTACT.
