Buyer changed their mind on a purchase, how is best to proceed?

I recently completed a sale on eBay and once payment was received on Paypal, I shipped the item. Now, before the item has actually been delivered, the buyer has contacted me to say they have changed their mind and will be returning the item. I am concerned how to proceed, as I don't want to be out of pocket on fees and postage costs due to someone just changing their mind! (plus it was for a fairly large sum of money). Any advice please?

Tell them to open a return case on Ebay and select that they changed their mind, they would then be told to return the item back to you at their own expense before you have to refund.

Once you have refunded you should get your FVF fee back again.

Will this also get me back the Paypal fees that I have paid on the transaction, as well as the eBay fees? They also suggested that I send them a partial refund the cover the cost of postage out to them, as it wasn't cheap either (free postage was offered). I'm aware that this might mean that I don't get a full refund on fees?
