Craigslist Scam?

Hello, I was trying to sell my iPhone 11 pro on Craigslist and someone replied via email. At first it was good, then they asked to buy the item for 30 more than whats being ask to cover the shipping fee to their son in Houston Texas. I already have gotten the vibe that it was a scam but he provided the phone number as well. We started to text and he asked to pay through either PayPal or zelle. I provided my email for PayPal, and within seconds I received an email "confirmation" from "PayPal". From making purchases and sells through PayPal on a daily basis, the email did not look authentic. I immediately contact customer service and they advised that if no payment has gone through or show anything that is pending do not ship the item. Can anyone verify if this is a scam? This would be my first time asking this committee.

This is not paypal customer services or a committee its a 'user to user' community advice forum and my advice is that this is a SCAM.

SCAM.

They encourage you to accept a direct Paypal payment and often tempt you by offering a higher amount...now who would do that....LOL?
No funds or activity of the transaction shows in your Paypal account and any emails may go into your junk/spam folders.

You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't because they don't have a Paypal account and have no intention of paying you.
It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.
They will tell you that the payment is released when you provide paypal with a tracking/shipping number......this won't happen.

Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account.
Paypal do not tell you to send trackable, they advise it for selling protection but it is not compulsory.
Delete any emails and ignore the scammers.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
