Hello again community
I have a question about my Venmo/PayPal accounts. I have been using PayPal with my ebay business since 2007 and started using Venmo back in 2015. Both my Venmo and my Paypal use the same phone numbers, same CapitalOne backup Bank account info, and the same email addresses. I have only used Venmo several times way back in 2015 but today I decided to reinstall the app and request a Venmo Mastercard Debit Card.
Here is the issue, when I signed into my Venmo account I expected to see my PayPal balance. I mean it's the same company, and the ONLY reason I would use the Venmo card would be for quick access to my PayPal balance. Yet I do not see my balance. How do we SYNC the balance? What purpose is there for Venmo if my balance is not showing up? The PayPal FAQ clearly says the Venmo transactions will be posted in my PayPal account activity, thus it should be seen in the Venmo app also?
If you have a PayPal Debit Card and Bank Debit Card, what is the purpose for the Venmo card if it does not already show your balances??? Lol
Please advise if I even need the Venmo card? Because if PayPal and Venmo does not sync the balance I see no reason for using Venmo over Paypal, or am I missing something obvious? All the FAQ's I could find are terrible at making these services clear.
Best Regards
Rod

You don't need the Venmo card if you do more transactions with PayPal. People have the option of pay using Venmo through PayPal Checkout now so those payments end up in your Paypal account like you said. I would imaging the Venmo debit card been useful if you have people sending you money exclusively through the Venmo app and the funds stay there.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Hi sharpiemarker,
Yeah a few days after posting this question I went directly to PayPal phone support to ask them in person and they explained it to me. The PayPal representative talked me into signing up for a PayPal Business Card instead, something I didn't know existed or somehow forgot about, so I now have a PayPal card. I will turn down the Venmo card when it is finally offered to me.
On another note, It is kind of confusing that PayPal owns Venmo but yet the two financial services are not synced for ease of use. At very least PayPal should have a feature at their website, and vice versa, that allows for instant transfers to/from your Venmo account.
Thanks for the reply sharpiemarker.
Best Regards
