Where can I find the Confirmation number

I sent money to a business for a deposit on an item and they are asking me if I received a confirmation number or email. Where do I find the confirmation number or when do I receive the confirmation number

If you sent money directly from your PayPal account to the merchant, the only record would be the PayPal email receipt with the transaction ID and the transaction details showing in your PayPal account activity which also shows transaction ID.

No confirmation number/email. Confirmation number or order number would be something the merchant site will have to send to you via separate email if you paid through merchant website instead. You still get a separate PayPal receipt too.
