Positive Balance on PayPal Credit following a refund following faulty goods

Hi, I have a positive balance of over £500 due to getting a refund following the return of a faulty item

The original balance was paid off some time ago, so I now have a positive balance.

PP customer service say that I cannot get this back into my original bank account - this seems very odd!

I have to pay for something using PP Credit to "get it back"?

Advice please!
