From my understanding synchrony took over paypal credit and were going to start reporting late payments to the bureaus as of june/july 2019. However, they reported a late payment of mine for April/2019. I disputed it and they sent me a letter saying what they did is right??? Help Thx

I’m having the same issue! My report date is May 2019. Have you had any luck getting it removed? This is my ONLY late payment on my credit report now so I’m extremely bummed out

No i have not and now it shows march. I have gone back and forth with paypal sync and expedia over this. I have now hired a credit removal type company to help. Whats really strange is if i look at my credit reports all the way up to the middle of oct it does not show. Then ict 19th credit report suddenly shows a late payment for march 2019. That is just not right!

Ugh...this stinks and is not right! I’m going to try my luck at a letter request and see what happens. My score tanked because of this one thing 😩 May have to go your route if that fails

First, Synchrony is the absolute worst and i stopped using paypal as my payment processor when they switched to Synchrony to service paypal credit (i use square now). Synchrony will out of the blue lower your limits or just shut down your lines of credit.

With that said regarding the credit reporting. They are notorious for this. Do not pay a credit repair firm they are all scams. Do what I did and they will get removed right away. Spend $40 and file a small claims lawsuit against Synchrony for violations of the fair credit reporting act. Keep the filing vague as you only need to bring proof to court (which it will not end up in court). Pay a process server to serve their statutory agent. Sue for the maximum allowed in your States Small Claims Court for violations of the fair credit reporting act, damages from failure to obtain new credit at favorable interest rates, damage to personal and business reputation.  You will get a call or letter from their in house lawyers asking if you will settle if they remove the item. That's a good time to also ensure your credit limits do not get decreased if your payments are not late in the future etc.

If they do want to go to court (keep in mind they can not send a lawyer to small claims court) they have a horrible reputation for predatory and incorrect credit reporting and you most likely will win damages.

Synchrony has told me they show no late payment for my item in ? . U e reporting to the credit bureaus. According to them they have asked expedia to remove anything but expedia refuses to do so. From my understanding this was not a late payment but a late fee, and expedia picks that up themselves and puts it down as a late payment without any action from synchrony.

whoever is reporting the data for the tradeline (if it shows as Synchrony (even if it's for an Expedia account they service) is responsible for the data. If they can not prove it, or get the verification from Expedia, they have to delete it. They can only report accurate and verified information. File a small claims suit or you will go around and around with them, trust me from experience. You can file in most states online for about $40.
