I don't see my PP Plus credit card link on my account overview page.

Several phone calls later -- and you know how LOOOOOONG you have to wait for customer service, PLUS, the crazy maze of phone options that are designed to keep you from speaking to anyone live -- and the advice I finally get FROM PAYPAL!!! Here it is... drum roll....

"We are unable to link your Paypal Plus credit card to your Paypal account. We suggest you CANCEL your Paypal Plus credit card and then reapply for a new card which we will then link to your account."

What the effin' eff?

I thought I'd heard it all, man.

My question has been answered by going on this forum today. I received a PayPal Extras Platinum card in the mail that I had applied for. When I didn't see the apr I would be paying on purchases, I called the Customer Service toll-free number on the back of the card. After being routed through several menus, (7 - 10 minutes of my time), I was connected to Dan. I apologized for not being able to understand him; his accent was very thick. We went back and forth and finally I was able to understand his answer.

I then went on line to send an email to explain why I was choosing not to activate this card. (NO  appreciable customer service!!!). I was only given space for a simple one line sentence for an email. I was also given the option to call a non-toll free number, which I did. AGAIN I was routed thru several menus and was finally connected to Lindsey. She apologized, but was not able to give any difinitive answers. Something about the system.....She offered to transfer me to someone who could answer me. Then the menus started again..............................

Bottom line is I shredded the card. I'm glad I looked at this forum board today.Thank you to everyone for taking the time to document your unfavorable experiences.

I would not get one!!!PERIOD.  They have not been able to link my card to the web since August.  I have made 15 calls to them with only false promises returned.  True liars.  I am considering legal action as I am missing all kinds of points from using the card.  I do a lot of eBay business too.  Idiots.  Buyer be ware!!!!!

They wont understand you. That was a dumb response to your question as well. Nobody is going to cancel out a card that they might not be able to get back and will hurt their score with the inquiry

Paypal site said I could not add the card and to try a different card..Hmm  Was told i had to wait 4 days to link the card to my PP account. Ok today is the 4th day, still a no go, called customer disservice, was told it would take another 3-5 days due to the back log.

Here's the deal and the scam:

You used to be able to pay your bill online, with relative ease.  However, some MBA at GE Credit decided that the way to increase profits would be to make it much harder to pay your bill.  How? First, drive you to use snail mail, for starters, and assign a fairly remote address- thus if you live in CA, have the address be in PA, and vice versa.

Next, you get a one time hit for all of those folks who were used to convenience of online payment, by making them incur a late charge by missing their payment, date. Next, if you miss your payment date, they can increase your interest rate to the maximum.

Next, you'll notice if you've called you can pay over the phone for a $15 fee.  Sucker.

I have called several times about this problem, and the latest is that it will take 45 days (ha!) to "link my card to my account." What a lie.   This of course cam eto me via the India or Bangladesh or whatever based call bank.

All you can do is kill your card as soon as you can, and warn others to stay far away from this disaster.  I'm surprised Paypal would be associated with this kind of BS, since it jsut sours people on the whole Paypal experince, and they've had enough troubles.

Like I said, some MBA had this bright idea, and they are no doubt showing increased profits via late fees and over the phone charges, as well as increased interest rates on balances.  But you'd think this is rather short term thinking, as over time folks figure it out and run for the hills.

Pay it off, and go take out a credit card from your local credit union or community bank. These Too Big To Fail Banks like GE Capital are thieves.  F--- em.

Or do as I did with 3 credit cards, dont pay a cent and go to the locar rights office and report fradulent scheme. I dint pay a cent of what I owed, nor any fees as law states that all credit issuers must provide a free of charge bank transfer and only your bank can have transfer fees and not the reclaim bank. I had some MBNA cards and Chase cards that removed the online bank payment feature to force the use of checks or Money order via snail mail or 20 charge over the phone. I refuced to use these methods and when they sent invoices i emailed suport about it and once support replied with we removed that feature i simply printed the email and took it to DACO and from there it was smooth sailing. My credit wasnt afected, I dint have to pay 1 cent in late fees, and untill the the company offers a direct bank transfer to all its consumers I do not have to pay 1 cent of my debt. this was 4 years ago and they still dont put the option cause they still make more money of the ppl they rip off.
