PayPal Smart Connect is a SCAM!

Today I needed to pay for an ebay purchase thru paypal, was instructed to sign up for an account (I thought I already had one), clicked thru various screens, and was shocked to realize that I had signed up for (or rather, been signed up for) a b.s. credit account with a $1500 limit and something like a 25% annual interest rate.  wtf??!!

Then, when I proceeded to pay for my purchase, my Paypal account attempted to default me into using this b.s. credit account -- by that time I had become aware that that there was a scam being perpetrated, so hopefully I was able to evade it, but who knows - only time will tell.  I guess I'll have to wait for my "statement".

Then, when I attempted to immediately cancel this unwanted credit account, I learned from this forum site that the only way to do so is to write to GE Money Bank -- which I will do asap, since it's safe bet that any credit card company whose business plan amounts to tricking people into becoming its customers is also going to be a font of bogus fees and charges (so simply not using this "card" probably won't be enough).  Of course, the mailing address for GE Money Bank is conveniently nowhere to be found on its website, but I will find it and they will be receiving a certified letter from me closing this account.  Bottom line:  BEWARE!  PAYPAL SMART CONNECT IS A SCAM!!
