Been in business and using PayPal Here (PPH) we have encountered a problem with the Giffgaff/02 network settings. If your phone/tablet is using the standard giffgaff settings you may encounter transaction problems when completing the sale. You might fight that as soon as you enter your customers PIN and then enter it wil negate the PPH server and then hang, then come up with the messge "Transaction Cancelled". This is caused by the default giffgaff settings.
However if you (like me) went rummaging around the APN settings you might find that two more giffgaff APN's have appeared inexplicably out of nowhere. I had giffgaff GPRS and giffgaff GPRS_1 appear. Having fiddled with the settings I found that swapping to giffgaff GPRS resolves the problem
I can only surmise that although the settings are almost identical they are not as one uses General Packet Radio Service which accoding to a geeky mate of mine is not the same as the usual giffgafff settings. when you get poor reception it would appear that giffgaff swap to the best APN for a better service. However there are data packet issues in some cases on the standard giffgaff network where PPH can't send the confirm data to your card reader and software. Accornding to PPH this is a known problem and it is not just a GiffGaff/02 problem. One thing that giffgaff doesn't do in some cases is chose the optimum APN setting for your location or signal, so, it may help that you swap between the two APN's. I have listed the settings below. This is no guarentee it will work but at least it may give you break!
