Software update failed!

Hi, I have a Paypal Here reader V.1 

I Have sucessfully paired phone to Paypal reader, and I am being asked to install update when I start the Paypal Here app.

I tap install update, it starts installing update, gets a few stages into it and then stops, displaying the message 'software update failed'. I have tried again and again to install this update , but it always fails.

Having read some of the other posts on this forum about this topic, I have tried resetting the reader with a pin in the hole by the on/off switch, uninstalled and then re-installed the Paypal here app on my phone and swithced everything off and on again. I keep retrying numerous times to install the update with no success at all.  Any Ideas? not sure what I haven't tried yet.

 Is my phone at fault ? it is a Sony Xperia C1905, running Anderiod version 4.3. or could the reader be faulty?

Hi John_T,

Sorry to hear this, can I ask that you try to remove and re-install the app once more. Before you do this, please go to your phone and forget the PayPal Here reader from the Bluetooth settings on the device and then retry syncing.
