Here’s How:
Ensure that you have a Live PayPal business account. Make a note of the email address associated with this PayPal account, because you need to provide the email address while adding the PayPal method in your live Customer Area.
Add PayPal to Customer Area:
- Log in to your Live Customer Area.
- Switch to your merchant account.
- Go to Settings > Payment methods.
- Select Request payment methods.
- Start entering the name of the payment method, then select it from the drop-down list.
- Select Submit.
When you add PayPal as a payment method to your live Customer Area, specify:
- Specify the email address that is associated with your live PayPal business account.
- Skip the Merchant ID field.
- By default, PayPal payments are captured immediately after authorization. If you want to capture payments later, select Enable authorization & capture.
Once added, PayPal will be marked as Waiting for PayPal approval in your Customer Area.
Grant Adyen permission!
To allow Adyen to process transactions on your PayPal account, you need to inform PayPal. Adyen will send you an email with an activation link after you have added PayPal in your Customer Area.
For live, you receive the activation link on the email address that you specify when creating your live PayPal business account.
You can also get the link from your live Customer Area > Settings > Payment methods: select PayPal and in the details, pane find the link under Acquirer account, in the MID field.
When you receive the email:
- Open the activation link.
- Log in to the PayPal business account that is associated with the email address.
- Accept all permissions that Adyen is asking for.
After a few minutes, the status of PayPal in your Customer Area will change to Active. If the status does not change, please contact the Support Team to manually set PayPal to Active.
