Issues With PayPal Payment Gateway

PayPal's Advance card processing gate way has been double-charging some of our clients and sometimes even undercharging clients on our website, thereby unnecessarily increasing refund liabilities on our business and straining relationships with clients. We have been trying for months now to resolve these issues with PayPal, all to no avail. In turn, since we got this payment processing latest system from PayPal and added charge back protection, PayPal has been limiting the amount of finances that we can access from sales for a period of 21 days. They blame the increased charge-backs, but the charge backs are happening because of PayPal's repeatedly failing payments processor. They have also been refusing to give us more financing as a result of the increased charge-backs, even though the original issue is stemming from PayPal itself. I am frustrated!!! Any advise. I am considering to stop using PayPal Business because of this.

Good day @PatrickEgwu,

Thank you for posting to the PayPal community.

PayPal system is a payment gateway, which will receive the payment request payload (i.e Payment and Item details, Shipping details, Invoice number, Amount details etc.) from merchant websites(built via third party platforms eCommerce) and process the payments accordingly.

Merchants should handle their internal website code and pass the appropriate payment API calls to PayPal system.

This should be an issue with your internal website(built via third party eCommerce) which is passing incorrect "amount" value in your website API request calls to PayPal system.

I would suggest to please contact your website developer or support of eCommerce to cross check your internal website code and pass correct "amount" value in your API request calls to PayPal system.

If your still facing any issues, please create a MTS ticket via - https://www.paypal-support.com/s/?language=en_US  with the detail information and error details.

Sincerely,

Chiranjeevi

I am having the exact same problem and I think the issue is with Paypal as it is about 1 out of 10 transactions and just started recently. I used Paypal Shipstation and when I clicked to purchase I got an error message to try again later. I did try again and got another error message, but when I checked my email there were 2 labels and 2 charges. A week later I purchased another label and same thing, this time I checked email and the label was there and charge as well. If I had kept trying like message said I would have had many labels. I think something is wrong with Paypal and the same thing is happening on our site.
