Urgent issue with payment captures in Shopify

*URGENT ISSUE
Hi all.
Today, we cannot capture any PayPal payments in our shop system. We run Shopify with QuickPay payment gateway. We get the following error code when we try to capture:
50000: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=error: certificate verify failed (unable to get local issuer certificate)
We recently changed our PayPal email address, and Quickpay told us that it could be a "tls" issue.
Our QuickPay support cannot help us from here. PayPal phone support is not open, so I hoped that I could find help here.
What to do from here?
