IIF files do not work with Quickbooks Desktop. Are there any real solutions?

I downloaded my transactions from PP in the IFF file format and try to import them into Quickbooks, but get an ERROR that the file is not properly formatted and cannot be imported.  Is it really that difficult to produce a QB Desktop compatible IIFF that a multi-billion dollar company cannot afford to pay a technician to fix this problem?  I mean, think about it.  Why even offer the IIF file to download if you are not going to make it compatible with the very program it is intended to work with?  Am I the only one that can see that the King has no clothes on here?

Are there any real solutions to this problem?

Hi - You can just ignore the error, click the line that says import anyway, and it works fine.
One thing you do need to watch out for - if the same customer buys things more than once, their customer name will be the same and the dupoicates will **bleep** up your Quickbooks file. So you will want to run a rebuild after you import to find and change any duplicate names.

Of course this is all moot now as Paypal seems to have deleted the ability to make an IIF file at all. I have tried it on more than one account and it isn't even one of the options anymore.

Did you find a solution by chance?  I've been saying the same thing.  You would think that 2 BIG companies, Quickbooks and PayPal, could figure it out.  No, they just keep taking our money.  Sooooo frustrating!

Paypal .iif files used to work with Quickbooks desktop 2018. Now Quickbooks message is "We weren't able to import your file" The option to Review the file does not work. Has Paypal changed the structure of .iif files? There are too many Paypal transactions to enter one by one. Is anyone else having this problem? Quickbooks Premier 2021 desktop version. Is this a Paypal or Quickbooks issue?
