I reside in Trinidad & Tobago and I want to start an online business and would like to use PayPal as a payment gateway. However, upon testing out the online store my customers notified me that their payment did not go through. After trying to figure out the problem I realized they can send money to a U.S PayPal account (my friend) but can't send it to any accounts with a Trinidad address, so therefore I can't receive payments from anyone. Does anyone know how I can go about resolving this? I tried emailing support but they haven't replied. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I used Big Cartel as a test to see if payments could be received. PayPal express checkout is what I'm using via Big Cartel. I also tried requesting money from the customers via the PayPal app and their email and still no luck.
Does your financial info match your info in PayPal? If the error message is saying that you can't receive money because you have a Trinidad address, you will need to contact customer service and ask why. T&T can receive money as long as you have your PayPal account confirmed with a Visa credit card that can accept withdrawals.
