Can't Receive Payments (Trinidad & Tobago Resident)

I reside in Trinidad & Tobago and I want to start an online business and would like to use PayPal as a payment gateway. However, upon testing out the online store my customers notified me that their payment did not go through. After trying to figure out the problem I realized they can send money to a U.S PayPal account (my friend)  but can't send it to any accounts with a Trinidad address, so therefore I can't receive payments from anyone. Does anyone know how I can go about resolving this? I tried emailing support but they haven't replied. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Really appreciate the help you're giving! Maybe the Big Cartel cart is the problem. But that still does't explain why I can't receive payments even when requesting it through email. My business is going to be primarily on Shopify, but i don't want to take out a plan until I know for sure I can accept payments.

No problem, you're welcome. Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, because of the error message talking bout you having a Trinidad address so can't receive payment, makes no sense. Wish I knew what it was.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I had the same problem as well. I started an Etsy store and my customers said the payments were not going through. It said " Payment could be completed due to regulations" I ended up using my brother's US Paypal since he's a citizen and it worked but I would like to be able to link my own personal Paypal here in Trinidad.
