Cannot Pay Using Royal Mail Click & Drop

Hello,

I would really appreciate some help in how to deal with this situation as it is causing me major inconvenience.

I am no longer able to pay for postage with Royal Mail's Online Click & Drop service. The transaction fails at the end, TAKING my money, but telling me it 'has not charged me for the transaction'. But, it HAS charged me for the transaction!

I then contact Royal Mail Click & Drop by phone for a refund. I then have to create my own postage label after already creating it on Click & Drop because a label is not generated until payment is received. I then have to get the post office to go through the process of putting it through their system rather than just getting my proof of purchase rubber stamped by them.

Royal Mail will not tell me anything! All they will say is that only some people are experiencing problems and not others and that it is a PayPal issue and that it is being 'worked on'. I have tried several times now over the last two weeks to buy postage, the last time was yesterday and STILL it is not working.

Royal Mail said that I can try paying with a debit card, but that is handled by PayPal too and even though you can enter your debit card details manually, it then tries to force you to create a PayPal account, but I already have a PayPal account, I do not want another one creating, but because I will not create one it will not let me pay with a debit card either. Grrrrrrrr. Getting extremely frustrated with this and would appreciate any help on where best to send my complaints, but more importantly, find someone who can tell me when this problem is going to be fully resolved so that I do not have to keep trying it out in Click & Drop only to have it fail again and then have to ring Royal Mail for a refund yet again!

I am getting very discontented with PayPal and Royal Mail over this issue, but as PayPal is the only way to pay on Click & Drop I am over a barrel with this.

Thank you.

...I have discovered I can pay with a debit card without creating a PayPal account, I didn't see the option at the bottom of the screen that states 'No Thanks'. But of course, it means entering my address details every time, so I still need my problem resolving. I've added this as a reply as I could not see how to edit my original post.

I have just discovered that Royal Mail charged me on multiple occasions for failed transactions in the past 4 months.  The sum adds to more than £100!  This started happening very often lately (twice today at a cost of £14).  I will now have to make a list and contact them with the hope that they cooperate.  What a waste of my time!

Royal Mail have been super-rude about this. First saying there is no problem, then saying it's my problem, then admitting they're having a problem, and finally saying it's a PayPal problem. If we're not able to buy on the Royal Mail website then that IS a Royal Mail problem. I have no issue using Paypal anywhere else.

Same problem trying to use Royal Mail website to pay customs related charges. Despite all appearing to have proceeded without any problems Royal Mail then claimed to have no record of the payment and then forced me to pay again at the delivery office counter before releasing the package. This is a Royal Mail issue. Paypal help & support came to the rescue in getting the original payment voided. No help at all from Royal Mail.

How does the failed payment appear in your account. In Click and drop I get a 'you have not been charged' message. In PayPal it comes up as a 'minus sign' next to the amount which seems to mean I've been charged. But then underneath it says 'cancelled'. Confused. I paid for other postage. Just postage for one person (international order) wouldn't go through.
p.s it won't let me do the guest checkout with paypal either.
