Hi Paypal Community! I recently had a package from Korea shipped to me (I am in Belgium) via DHL Express International. Not surprisingly, I had to pay a customs fee. I was notified about this by DHL, since they required a secure online payment in advance before they sent out the delivery (they could not accept payment at the moment of delivery). One of the payment options on the DHL website is Paypal, so I used that. However, the payment application (Worldpay) said the payment had failed, so the status of my customs fee was still "unpaid". Funnily enough, though, Paypal somehow did register the payment but it is now on "pending", with a note that it has to be accepted by DHL upon completing my order. I called DHL and they looked it up, but could see no payment on their end to accept, no trace of it in their account. I had to use another payment method to get my order, as I did. I received my parcel now. I do wonder what will happen to my unclaimed funds on Paypal now. Will they stay forever in limbo? Since DHL cannot see it and received their money another way, they will never accept it on their end. The amount was not credited from my account yet, but it is in a way blocked because of this "Pending" outstanding payment. Will this expire at some point and be returned to me? I do hope so.
