Direct Debit cancelled

Hi, I use PayPal regularly for purchasing items online shopping etc. I noticed on my bank that there was a direct debit for PayPal. I wasn't aware that was how PayPal made its payments so I cancelled the direct debit. I have made purchases through PayPal since the cancellation. Is this going to be a problem or will PayPal create a new Direct Debit to my bank account? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

When you add a bank account to paypal it sets up the direct debit mandate so that paypal can take authorised payments for any purchases you make (or pay your Ebay fees).
No company eg water/electric can take funds from your bank account on a regular basis without that direct debit.
However the amount shown is always the ''last'' transaction / amount that you paid to a seller via paypal.

If you have cancelled it then as paypal front the payment to the seller and they wait for the funds to transfer from your bank account then if they fail they will put your paypal account into negative and will try again a few days later, if that again fails then they may try any back up card you have linked to your paypal account.

Thanks, I have my debit card also set up as a way of payment on PayPal so in theory from what you are saying it will use that?
