I sent a payment as e check and the buyer doesn’t want to wait to be clear how can I cancel it

You can't cancel an echeque. The seller has the option to issue a refund BUT you won't get the money refunded until it has processed through to paypal from your bank account and as a refund has been issued > sent back to your bank account and that can take up to a week.

Sellers are not allowed to refuse echeques as they are paypal payments the same as any other, BUT they have the right and should wait for it to clear before sending any goods.
