I have a PayPal business account and decided to order a Zettle 2 card reader to allow for better payment processing of customers debit and credit cards. I did a test run of the Zettle card reader with my own credit card for $360. (I used that specific amount because that’s the average cost of my services). The next business day, the payment of $360 (minus transaction fees of course) appeared in my PayPal balance. That same day a limitation was placed on my account and PayPal requested documentation such as supplier letters, a business license etc. None of this was applicable to my business because my business provides digital services. I create Web Commercials and YouTube Special Effects Intros. I don’t have an inventory or require suppliers. I uploaded letters because there was nothing else to upload. Considering my business is registered as an LLC with the Illinois Secretary of State, I uploaded my articles of organization as well as ein letter. My business dealings do not require a business license. Now PayPal is saying my account has those limitations….along with an unresolved PayPal account that is linked to my account. I DO NOT have any other PayPal accounts. I have explained this over and over via calls to PayPal as well as messages. I decided to go through PayPal’s IVR system and request a refund for my credit card payment. I took this route because PayPal did not allow the option to request the refund online. It worked! The refund was processed and the payment was refunded to Zettle. Now I just needed to figure out how to process a refund from Zettle to my PayPal account. I attempted to process a refund from Zettle to my credit card and it’s keeps saying “service temporarily unavailable, please try again later”. I contacted Zettle Support and they said my payment CANNOT be refunded because I don’t have any money in reserve to process refunds. So how do I get my refund? Paypal balance shows $0 and NOW the Zettle balance shows $0. They have taken my money and I’m at a loss! Please help! I’m sorry for the lengthy message but I wanted to be sure to include all the details as to avoid delays by requesting additional details etc.

Hello @ZOTEKBLUE,
Welcome to PayPal Community! I realize the urgency of wanting this issue resolved. Based on the information provided, it sounds like the refund is currently with Zettle and may be in reserves. In this situation, you will need to communicate further with Zettle to understand the requirements to process refunds.
I understand this information may not be the answer you were wanting but I hope it guides you in the right direction.
Iris
