Paypal.me - Changing currency reflects inaccurate pricing

Hi there,

I'm currently using a PayPal.me button to collect funds for an event.  It's located here:
https://www.paypal.com/paypalme2/designsprints/99

It works fine if it's USD currency.  The problem is if someone chooses 'EUR' from the dropdown, the amount changes to .99 EUR, which is 99 cents EUR?

Attaching two different images for reference.  Any ideas?

How do I request a specific amount?
Just add the amount you want to request to the end of your link. For example, to request money with the link 'DiaRusso', a person would use PayPal.Me/DiaRusso/25 to request £25.00. The request will be made in your default currency, which you can change at anytime in your PayPal account settings.

You can request a specific currency by adding the currency code to the amount. So to ask for Australian Dollars, for example, a person would use PayPal.Me/DiaRusso/25AUD.

NOTE: Some countries have limits on the currencies that can be sent, so check with the sender that they can send you money in the currency you want.

Did this help?

Hi @kernowlass !

It does, and I'll end up using two different links now (one for USD and one for EUR), but it still doesn't solve the inherent problem on the paypal.me screen where selecting a different currency inaccurately changes the amount originally listed in the numerical input field.

You can replicate yourself by doing the following:

  1. Use that same DiRusso link you used as an example, but use 99 dollars for a number in the URL (PayPal.Me/DiaRusso/99).
  2. Make sure the account has USD as a default currency when someone sees that PayPal.me page for the first time.
  3. Select 'EUR' in the dropdown.
  4. The number changes from $99.00 USD to 0.99 EUR.

Let me know if that's what you encounter.
