I am new to the paypal community and I'm already regretting ever joining. I have received a payment email notification, have confirmed my email, and still nothing is showing up on my balance. I have contacted them directly quite a few time and I am not getting any clear answer as to when I will be seeing this payment in my account. All they keep telling me is that a bug is in their system. How does that help me? Will I ever get a hold of my money? Where is my money? All these questions need answers. I would appreciate some clarity.

Hi @jjacobo,
A payment might be unclaimed because:
- The recipient doesn't have a PayPal account. When you send money, we immediately email the recipient. The email contains a link that they can click to open a PayPal account and claim your payment.
- The recipient needs to accept or deny your payment. (Premier and Business account holders can choose which payments they accept either automatically or on an individual basis.)
- The recipient's email address was entered incorrectly when you sent your payment. You'll need to cancel the transaction, then reenter the email address and send your payment again.
- The recipient hasn't confirmed the email address on their PayPal account.
- The recipient has not confirmed their bank account.
- The recipient doesn't have an active currency balance in the currency sent, or has opted to not automatically accept payments in the currency the payment was sent.
Note:
- Unclaimed payments are automatically reversed after 30 days.
- You may want to remind the recipient that you sent them a payment.
- Refunds to a credit or debit card can take up to 30 days to appear on your card statement.
- If there's a problem with the payment you sent, please get in touch with your recipient.
- Fixed fees - $0.30 USD per transaction - are not refundable. To learn more about variable and fixed transaction fees, click Fees at the bottom of any PayPal page.
Here's how to accept or deny a payment:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Click Activity at the top of the page.
- Select Accept or Deny in the drop down menu for the transaction.
- On the following page, select the appropriate radio button and click Submit or Decide Later.
If you're denying a payment, it's a good idea to include a note to let the buyer know why.
If you are facing any difficulties or would like to inquire further, kindly contact your local PayPal support line and they will proceed to assist you with your inquiry.

I have this same problem. I am also new to PayPal and am already thoroughly regretting joining. I have received an email saying that the person sent me the money, but it does not show up in my balance.
I have confirmed with the person who sent me the money, and the amount has been deducted from their account, so where is it?
I have confirmed my email, Linked my credit card, added a pin code and security questions, and even tried buying something today (it worked) to make sure my account was fully set up.
I have tried reaching out to PayPal repeatedly with no reply.
Can someone please assist.
Thank you
