Sent money to a closed Paypal account

Hi guys im hoping that you can help me.......

I gave some money to a friend via the mobile phone Paypal app and by using my friends mobile phone number.......the money was inadvertently sent to a closed Paypal account which was closed by my friend as he just didn't use it anymore but his mobile number was still registered to that account. He has accessed the account and can show that the money is there but how do i get the money back so i can send it onto the his correct 'open' account ?

Ive checked my Paypal and it says that the payment is completed but the money has not as of yet left my bank account.

If a paypal account was CLOSED then the payment would not complete, it would show as unclaimed instead.

what will happen next? and also my account it has limitation warning sign.
