PayPal sent me an email that I had money transferred to my account and it included a Transaction ID. That money never came. Is there a way to TRACK a Transaction ID other than contacting the sender?

Are you sure it wasn't a fake scam email?

Yes. Positive. Not a scam. I emailed the sender who verified the Transaction ID was from them. It has not showed up on my "Recent Activity" list.

Were the funds sent in the correct currency?
Have you checked the email address the funds were sent to and made sure there were no spelling errors or misplaced dots?
Have you confirmed your email address?
Were the funds sent to the email address that is linked to your paypal account?

Thank you.
Yes to all your questions. I received the transaction ID at my correct email address.
Another PayPal payment today from the same sender, using a different sender's email address, and that one went through fine so I got my payment OK.
It's possible that the sender cancelled the first payment after the PayPal information was sent to me.
I've emailed the sender am waiting for a reply.
I still would like to know if there is a way to track a Transaction ID using PayPal's system. I can't find anywhere to do that.
