i'm trying to send a payment by credit card and the paypal fee is more than 50% of my payment amount. why is this so high?

For sending money using a credit card, debit card or paypal cash card as a funding source, there will be a fee of 2.9% of the original amount plus $0.30. You can use your paypal balance or bank as a funding source and that is free of charge.
