BUYING ON FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE

Hi, I would like to use PayPal to buy something off Facebook Marketplace but not too sure how to do it! I thought the sellers PayPal Account would be linked to their Facebook Account or something but the seller is saying all I need is their email address. What is the best and safest way to send payment? Shall I request for him to send an invoice? Would appreciate any help, getting very nervous about even buying the item now! Thankyou in advance!

You can request a PayPal invoice but you can also send payment the following way and make sure you select "Paying for an item or service" to receive purchase protection. If there is a spot for a note on what is being purchased, enter a thorough description.

From your computer, here’s how to send money:

1. Click Send & Request at the top of the page.
2. Enter the name, email address or mobile number to whom you are sending money, then click Next.
3. Enter the amount you want to send.
4. Select either "Paying for an item or service" or "Sending to a friend."
5. Select your shipping address if you're paying for an item or service.
6. Click Continue.
7. Select how you want to pay, then click Next.
8. Review the information on the screen and click Send Payments Now.
