Do I have to add tracking to receive payment

I received an email saying that my payment from selling something was on hold, and that I would receive it one day after the buyer had confirmed that they received the item, or when you are able to see the delivery with a tracking number. I however only charged the buyer for domestic delivery which is not tracked, therefore I cannot provide a tracking number for paypal to see and monitor. Do I need this to receive my payment, or can I just update the shipping info as ‘shipped’ without a tracking number? I also know that the buyer can confirm they have received the item by following a number of steps on their recent transactions, but I have tried to look for that on my recent orders which I have received, and when I click on the transaction I can’t find a button which confirms that I have received the item. Please reply to me soon as I hope to receive my payment instead of waiting 21 days. Many thanks

If you don't send trackable then funds are released at 21 days.

If you mark the transaction as shipped the buyer may have the option on their account to mark the transaction as delivery/satisfied. If the buyer confirms this by clicking on the "Confirm Receipt" button, the funds may be released to you sooner. This is not always guaranteed.

Thanks so much for replying!! Does everyone have the ‘confirm receipt’ button? Because I can’t find it on my recent orders that I’ve received. So the funds are completely released after 21 days, regardless of whether the buyer confirms receipt? Because there’s a chance that they won’t have that button. Will this ‘holding payment’ happen again with future payments?

Depends on transaction type / site you are sellling on and other details as to whether buyer can confirm receipt or not but under the new seller hold the most you should wait is 21 days.

The new seller hold goes on for as long as paypal think until you have built up a good seller reputation.

In some countries its stipulated but as you haven't added your country to your profile or said in your post then your best bet is to read the info in the FAQ for your country.
