I am selling a cell phone and the person I am selling to requested to use pay pal. I got an email to confirm payment of item but there is transaction activity on my pay pal account. The email says that I need to send the waybill information in order to release funds. Is this true? The thing that is worrying is the email address looks funny As it doesn’t have @paypal in the address. I really need help with this, I have not sent anything yet. Can anyone help me please

It's a scam. They're not going to pay you. They sent fake PayPal email confirmation asking you to provide tracking number (which is not compulsory) or send payment with a third party payment processor such as Western Union and when you ship the phone, there will still be no payment.
When someone really pays you, you will see a transaction and funds in your pending balance (if paypal holds the funds), then you ship item and then if you want to get your money sooner from PayPal, then you enter the tracking info AT PAYPAL, not emailing the buyer so they can release funds, there would be no need since you'll have tracking number at PayPal and PayPal does it automatically. So it's a scam, delete their emails communications and move on.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

SCAM.
They encourage you to accept a 'direct' Paypal payment and may ask you to send the item internationally.
No funds or activity of the transaction shows in your Paypal account and any emails 'may' go into your junk or spam folders.
You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't because they don't actually have a Paypal account and have no intention of paying you.
It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.
They will tell you that the payment is released when you provide paypal with a tracking/shipping number......this won't happen.
Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account.
Paypal do not tell you to send trackable, they advise it for selling protection but it is not compulsory.
Delete any emails and ignore the scammers.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
