Halifax & Direct Debit

Hi, I recently booked an appointment and sent the person £10 through PayPal which is linked to my Halifax account. I selected for the money to be taken from my Halifax account rather than card. The money eventually went through after 2 days but under my direct debits on my Halifax account, it is stating is has two direct debits - my o2 phonebill which comes out automatically each month and the £10 deposit. Does this mean I’m going to randomly send £10 every month to this woman when it was just a one-off payment? There is also a cancel option underneath it but if I hit cancel will it take the money back? I want her to have the £10 obviously but I don’t want it being taken out of my account every month. Any help would be appreciated, I’m just confused as I didn’t set a date or anything for it to be taken every month. Thanks Nicole

When you add a bank account to paypal it sets up the direct debit mandate so that paypal can take authorised payments for any purchases you make (or pay your Ebay fees).
No company eg water/electric can take funds from your bank account on a regular basis without that direct debit.
However the amount shown is always the ''last'' transaction / amount that you paid to a seller via paypal.
Sometimes it does not coincide with the date you made the payment as paypal CREDIT the seller in advance and then paypal wait for the funds to transfer from your bank account, they can 'leave' that account at anytime from a few hours up to a few days later. Also the 'amount' can sometimes not be recognised if you used it as a part-payment with the rest coming from funds already in your paypal balance.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
