PayPal have taken payment but company no record of receiving

Used PayPal to pay for a holiday from Jet2 holidays. Money taken from my account but Jet2 have no record on any of their systems as the purchase didn't go through (gave the transaction number). According to PayPal I have to wait 30 days before they can void the transaction unless Jet2 decline payment. As they cannot find any trace of the payment in any of their systems they cannot decline something they don't have. I find it absolutely disgraceful that through no error of mine I have to wait for such a long period of time to get my money back. Is their any way I can progress this quicker. They won't allow me to raise a concern as the money is pending even though I have had the amount deducted from my credit card. Used PayPal numerous times as well as Jet2 and never had a bother. Contacted both parties twice and each are blaming the other. That said when I booked with my credit card directly there were no issues which would imply that the issue is with PayPal.

Yes, sometimes there are glitches and PayPal order fails to go through properly.

Now with most transactions with retailers, they use a method called Authorization to Capture. An authorization is initiated from your purchase and the funds are held pending merchant processing the payment, but if the order fails to go through, the merchant has no way of managing the authorization therefore the authorization has to be left to expire in no longer than 30 days. Authorizations are an agreement with the merchant to pay and so only the merchant can release you from the agreement. It can't be canceled by your bank or PayPal. It is not a completed charge so it can't be disputed either because it expires on its own if funds are not captured. Its a drag because of the funds are being held but it'll eventually be released back into your account.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
