Refund confirmation email but no refund

I have a refund from an eBay seller, on my account it states refund will be available in your wallet from October 5.got email from PayPal on October 5 saying funds are now in wallet. As of today I still have 0.00 in my wallet. Have also checked on visa debit and there are no sending refunds.

If you funded the original Paypal payment to the seller with a card then it won't go back to your paypal balance.

Once marked as completed it will automatically go back to your card. Paypal say allow 30 days but I have never waited longer than a week for mine, however that depends a lot on what country you are in.

Thanks, I am waiting over a week now for the refund, PayPal asked me to check with my bank which I did and they have no refunds pending on their end, which is very strange as once refund is issued on PayPal it states pending with the bank but there are no pending refunds after a week.

I am having the same problem, bought an item, not received it so seller cancelled it and issued a refund. My payment source was visa debit through my paypal. Had msg from ebay say seller has refunded etc etc, but my bank acc with my card i used is saying nothing pending/outstanding?!? Makes me laugh that when i made payment, it cleared n sent immediately, yet always have excuses on why refund drains it and takes days++

Transfers from bank accounts / cards are never instant, that is why when you buy something paypal credit the seller upfront for you and paypal take the wait for the funds to transfer to pay them back again, this is so you get your item without delay.

However with refunds you take the wait for the funds to transfer from the sellers funding source > paypal who then pass them on to your paypal balance OR card issuer.
