I made a PayPal purchase at Walmart.com, but canceled the transaction within the hour, prior to fulfillment. My Walmart account verified the cancelation and refund. My PayPal account shows the purchase amount refund as received, but the amount is not posted back to the PayPal balance. The purchase amount was drafted from the bank account today. Does anyone know why the transaction seems to have executed after verified cancelation?
When you cancel a payment those funds can't do a u-turn > they have to process through to paypal who will as the transaction was cancelled return them to your funding source (if you paid from your bank account or with a card), or credit your paypal balance (if it was funded from that balance), but that takes a few days and sometimes up to a week.
