Using Depop -- Paypal is holding my money and I can't ship to my buyer

Hello, I am a new seller on Depop, and I recently sold a hoodie, and the payment was taken from my buyers paypal. But I haven't received it in my account because paypal says it's on hold. When I try to get my money sooner, it says i have to update tracking info or shipping info before i can get my money, but how am I supposed to ship it without the money? Is that supposed to protect me? I need the money in order to ensure I can ship without getting scammed, and because I straight up can't ship without the money. I don't understand all these security measures, when all I want is to recieve my money and ship it without all this complication. I'm not shipping until the money shows up in my account, but paypal won't let go of her payment, so as of right now, its like floating in the air -- out of her account and not in mine, I don't know hat else to do because I have my bank account linked and my card, so I don't understand the problem. Depop even took money out of my paypal for some reason and now I'm in the negatives. Paypal said I have to make a shipping label to get my money faster, but depop already made a shipping label for me, so I don't understand... I decided to try and make the shipping label so I would get my payment, but I have to pay extra for that too? Even when depop took money out of my account? At this point, I'm not earning anything! When I try to make a shipping label, it says I have insufficient funds to do so,, because I haven't received my payment from her! @depop 

 

Please help me understand.

It's sad to know that you are in that situation right now. We appreciate you letting us know what happened. I'm sorry about the confusion. With PayPal Purchase Protection, once a transaction with a Seller and Buyer accurs, the Buyer's payment will always be automatically on hold for 21days. Well I really hope that every Seller online are like you who after receiving the money are still willing to ship the item. Remember that this is a transaction between 2 random person online who doesn't know each other. Buyer see's your item online will pay through PayPal, Seller will receive it but will be on hold upto 21days.2 ways to expedite the release of hold will be.
1. Seller will ship item then upload tracking no. Upon buyer receiving the item,24hrs after, funds will be automatically released by our system.
2. Buyer received the Item, will go to their PayPal account. Then go to the actual transaction and will click on Confirm Receipt. Funds will be released for the Seller.
Note: Option 2 will really work if Seller have direct and continuous contact with Buyer. Hope this clarifies the issue for you. Have a safe day my friend.
