eCheque bouncing

Hi all,

I accidentally paid by e-Cheque last week and contacted Paypal, the seller and my bank to find out how it could be cancelled. No luck from all three, amazing.

This morning I checked my account and now I'm overdrawn because PayPal have taken the money but the transaction is still saying pending on my account. 

My question is, what will happen now? I've already paid the seller so that is not an issue and they said they will put a note saying to refund me should the money come through. 

How long will PayPal try and take that money? I'm not excited for the charges I have to say especially since I asked help from all parties involved and do not have that money laying around at this specific moment. Thank you for anyone that can help- I am in the UK so not sure if our banks work differently to others.

Hi @LadyP7,

I'm sorry to hear of the confusion surrounding the eCheque timeframe. When an eCheque is sent, it will draw from the bank and may still take a few days from that time before it clears fully through the ACH process. If the seller refunds the payment, the funds will be returned to your PayPal account and then returned to your bank account. The return of the funds could take a few days as well.
