Cancel “pay in 4” pending transaction

I was trying to buy tickets on stubhub but changed my mind in the end (ie I never ended up buying the ticket in the end). Although I clicked the “cancel and return to stubhub” and canceled the shopping cart, PayPal still let the “pay in 4” option that I had initially chosen go through and now I have a pending charge. Will this pending “pay in 4” transaction be automatically canceled within a few hours since I never bought the item/made the transaction with stubhub or do I have to contact consumer service and get a refund? I really don’t want to be charged for something I didn’t even end up buying

Hello @kjian1

Welcome to the PayPal Community! I understand you've run into some issues with a recent transaction, I'd be happy to try to clear things up a bit. Normally, when you start a Pay in 4 transaction, you'll see the pending authorization in your PayPal activity along with the first completed payment. If you do not complete your Pay in 4 transaction, the pending authorization will be automatically voided by PayPal within 72 hours of the pre-authorization hold.

If you still have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Support teams for assistance.

Best wishes!
