Is there is a limit to how many pay in 4 loans you can have with one merchant?

For the first time i had a Pay in 4 declined but I've done nothing different. Since Pay in 4 started, I've really found it useful. I mostly use it for walmart purchases. I've had maybe 12 different pay in 4 loans, all paid on time, none was late, money was always available. I haven't changed my bank or credit cards, I've had my paypal account for years, I've had my bank account for years. The amount I applied to today was around the normal amount. The option was there for pay in 4, I picked it, I got to the next screen and right when I was supposed to go back to walmart to finish checking out, it suddenly popped up that it was declined. I got that generic message about the decline but I dont see how it applies in this case. I've had as many has 8 or 9 loans open at one time for much more and never had a problem. The only thing I can think of is, is there a limit on how much you can do per merchant? I have 5 current loans open now, they are all with walmart, all of them are 1/2 paid. They total around $240. The amount I was doing today was for about $80.

Is there a merchant limit maybe?

Its not a big deal really, I like the pay in 4 for general shopping cause I get paid every 2 weeks so it's useful. But I would like to know the particulars about rules and all.

Thank you

Hello @Jlowe100

Thank you for the post and welcome to our community forum!

I do understand your concern about the Pay in 4 application. We will send an email explaining why your application didn't go through. If the application gets declined, you can still use PayPal to check out securely with other payment methods in your wallet.

I hope this information helps
