Pay Later didn't work

I used "Pay In 4" previously and that worked well. This time, I checked "Monthly Payments" which I didn't see before (it mentioned something in the $29 range) and assumed it was because I completed the "Pay In 4" on time so my credit status was elevated. I clicked the "Next" button (although I'm not sure what the button was called exactly) and WHOOSH PayPal took the entire amount from my bank account. I wasn't able to review purchase. I am now stretched thin. Is there a way to contact PP about getting Pay Later / Pay In 4 on this purchase? Why didn't it work?

Hello @orcblood,
Welcome to our community help forum and thanks for posting here!
Sorry to hear the trouble you've experienced with Pay monthly option. Pay monthly is one of the feature where the customers can spread the cost of eligible purchases into equl monthly payments. It’s offered to eligible customers during the online checkout experience.
If the payment is not competed and the debit only reflects in your bank account, its possible that you're referring to an temporary authorization which gets dropped in few days. If you don't see the return in few days, please reach out to our team through the available contact options on our website to get this checked further.
I hope this information helps!

Hi, thanks for replying.
But if the transaction was set up for monthly payments, wouldn't there have been a confirmation of that with how much the payments would be etc ? I received no confirmation that monthly payments or "pay in 4" was set up.
The vendor I purchased from is very busy with orders no doubt and their seller terms states from 3 to 10 days before shipping so assuming it's 10 days, is it still possible that monthly payments or "pay in 4" will "kick in" when the item is actually shipped? I guess only time will tell?

Hey @orcblood,
I understand your concern here! Once the Pay monthly or Pay in 4 approved, you will always be notified the details via email and the same can be seen in your PayPal account. Just log into your PayPal account, go to Pay in 4/Pay monthly, and click on the specific Pay in 4 or pay monthly plan you want to see. There you can see the details of the plan the amounts of upcoming payments by clicking “See Upcoming Payments.”
Once you complete your purchase with Pay in 4/Pay monthly and the merchant completes your order, initial payment will be taken from your specified payment method. If the charge is only an authorization reflecting in your bank/card, it will get voided in 72 hours. More details about But now, pay later feature can be found here.
Have a great day!
Bindu
