PayPal Authorizes Transaction for Home Depot, but Home Depot won't Complete the Order

I tried to place an order on Home Depot, and I tried to pay using PayPal's Pay in Four method.  It took me to the website, had me complete the application, and ultimately authorized the transaction, but then, when it took me back to the website, the payment method had reverted automatically to "credit card" and the Place Order button was greyed out.  I tried calling Home Depot to troubleshoot the issue, and he told me to refresh the page and try doing it again, so I did, and the same thing happened, so now I have two authorizations pending against my bank account for a total of $150 that are going to be held against my account for the next 2-5 business days, because of their blasted **bleep** site.  Has anyone ever had this happen and been able to get it to work right?  The guy I talked to on the phone was worse than useless.  He kept insisting that I pay with a credit card, which I don't want to do because I don't want to pay interest.

Hello @vsavatar

Welcome to the Community!

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble making a purchase using Pay in 4 on Home Depot. When you run into an error like this, I recommend clearing your cache and cookies or trying a different web browser. If you have a pending authorization showing on PayPal, I recommend waiting until the authorization is canceled before making another purchase. This will help ensure you're not charged multiple times. If Home Depot doesn't see the transaction on their side, there was likely a connection issue between the two websites. However, if the authorization is pending, there's still a chance they can claim the payment on the backend. Suppose Home Depot doesn't claim or cancel the pending authorization within the PayPal system. In that case, we'll automatically cancel it for you after 30 days. If needed, you can reach Customer Support by clicking 'Contact' at the bottom of any PayPal website. Support is also available through Facebook Private Message or Twitter Direct Message.

I hope this helps!
