Shipments to Canada through a general processing location?

Why when using ship station and sending something to Canada everything goes to Los Angeles through a processing facility which original PayPal shipping never did that? I just found this out because the customer contacted me as it's been 4 weeks and he still has not received the item. Today I sent another package to Canada and I made a point to look at the label and indeed it is being sent to Los Angeles instead of directly to Canada which delays the delivery. That seems like such a lot of work just to save a buck?

Hey, my company is undergoing the same issues.  We shipped a parcel through USPS Express Mail International and Shipstation tracked it as far as Carson City CA, and then lost it.  Really!!?  So our overseas client likely won't receive his item when the shipping cost $70.00 and USPS can't find it either!  Shipstation is a disaster.  Not going to get political but this year has not been good, we have stupid decisions far and near and now PayPal got into the fray.  Ugh.  Anytime someone tells you they have to have your express shipment delayed at another (non-USPS) facility for re-labeling you can bet it's not going to go well and it didn't.  We'll continue to use PayPal but won't utilize their Shipstation client software.  Dumb.
