payment taken twice for ebay item

paying for ebay item via payment in 3. paypal app crashed when i was making transaction so i logged out. no email from paypal confirming payment made so i paid via credit card in full instead. later i noticed paypal have taken payment (pending). i've contacted seller and theyve only received the payment i made by card. unable to raise issue on paypal site, so how do i get the paypal transaction cancelled and refunded?

Welcome to the PayPal Community! I am sorry to hear you see a pending charge in your card for a Pay in 3 transaction that was not completed. When making a purchase with PayPal Pay in 3, we will place a pre-authorization hold on your chosen card for an amount of the purchase. If the purchase is not completed, the pre-authorization is voided within 24 hours. You can find more information about our Pay in 3 here. I hope this helps.
