virtual terminal not accepting payments

Hi

I was using the virtual terminal with no issues for a few years. Last Thursday I processed some payments ok, the after lunch it came up with this message "Gateway decline: Your card issuer, not PayPal, declined this transaction. Ask your buyer to use another card".

I tried a couple of times with no luck, they then used another card and same messages.

The next customer was the same, I tried both my cards and the same message.

Can anyone help me please.

Katrina

Hello @ktnsteve,

Welcome to our community forum and thank you for your post!

Sorry to know that buyers are not able to make the payments. I would suggest you to contact the merchant technical support to get this fixed. You can get help by navigating to http://www.paypal.com/mts and clicking on "contact support" at the bottom of the page.

I hope this information helps!

I have had the same problem with valid cards being "declined" since October 2022.  Merchant services  have been  tardy dismissive, useless in so called investigation of my problem.  I have been happily using Paypal Virtual terminal for years, but am now exasperated.  IanK

I have caught PayPal lying when they say “Your card issuer, not PayPal declined transaction” when I checked transaction logs that I received from the bank, it’s actually PayPal who is canceling transactions. It’s so hard to get any info or explanation as to what type of data they notice that makes transactions decline.
