I am so frustrated by the inadequacies in Paypal batch Invoicing. I need to do it once a year for a residents association, and it is such a pain.
I've gone into Batch Invoicing , uploaded a Template XLS OK (it reports it as clean, with no errors), but when I press SEND it sends no Invoices , and shows no error messages.
Searching for Invoices afterwards shows that it created none.
I've tried a copy of the same file with one single row in it, and it worked OK.
I've manually fixed any rows reported with errors in them (email format issues, Name too long etc.) - and there are no errors left.
It reports no errors, there are no troubleshooting tips.
It is such as waste of my time.
Am I the only one, or is the Paypal Batch Invoicing mechanism just totally inadequate / not fit for purpose ?
EDIT: Even this support post page is troublesome ! LOL. When I submit, It complains that the subject line is > 100 characters, but overlays the error message with a tooltip which means I can't read it. Cut-n-pasting the buffer into a notepad file was the only way I could see it .

BTW, apologies for the frustrated tone in my post. I am grateful in advance for any advice here, but so frustrated with Paypal.

I could have written this post!
I am sending an annual batch of neighborhood-association invoices and am having the exact same issues.
In the past I was told by the person that handed this off to me that there is a $4,000 maximum value in one day's upload (which, side issue, seems absurd), so I broke up my CSV file into four files with around 50 rows in each file, total $3,200 per file. That did the trick, it went through! The invoices were sent by email, and the Paypal history was populated with them.
Then today when I did the second file upload: back to nothing after hitting send. I even took the previous day's file, cleared it out, populated it with today's data -- nothing. I am utterly baffled.
The lack of any error indication from Paypal is just mind-blowing, agreed, what a waste of time.
EDIT: I had to go 'round and 'round to send this, I'd hit the "I'm not a robot" reCAPTCHA button but no images would come up. I just kept getting a FAIL message from the platform.

I finally sorted out the two issues I was having and was able to upload.
One, the invoice date was not in TEXT format, and in mm/dd/yyyy format.
Two, a single email showed a dingbat next to it in the Paypal review pane. I corrected this by opening up the batch upload file, pasting a known good cell atop that bad cell, then manually writing in the email atop that.
The way I was able to finally find these was to strip out all but a SINGLE row in the upload file, and keep testing things until that finally went through.
Also, there was no daily upload limit that I could detect, once these were finally resolved. I uploaded $9k worth of invoices, about 160 invoices in several batches, without a glitch.
Dear Paypal, Please create an upload file evaluator tool that actually works!!! One that scans for these types of errors. At no point in this entire process did I get any response, warning, feedback, email, pop-up window or anything else from Paypal indicating what the problem with my upload file was. In fact, I got the opposite, every single time: a message stating that my file was good to go!!
