PayPal Cashback Mastercard not showing updated Available Credit balance

I completely paid off my credit balance on my PayPal world cashback mastercard. This was not a late payment and after the large sum left my bank account and showed as posted on my credit card, the balance is now zero, but even after a week, the available credit has not updated. What is the solution? I'd love to keep using the card but I'm not going to be able to if there isn't any available credit.

Hello @pmleigh

Thanks for visiting the PayPal Community! Welcome!

I'm sorry to hear that your available balance isn't updating on your Paypal World Cashback Mastercard. I suggest reaching out to Customer Support by calling the number on the back of your card. They'll be able to provide you with the most accurate timeframe for when it should be updated and if there was a reason for the delay.

I hope this helps!

Same issue here. Had this card 9 months or so. We pay the balance off each month and it takes up to a full cycle to update available credit. Never late, never missed a payment. This practice is mind boggling. The other two cards I have update immediately and or within 48 hours if the payment was over $3k. Customer service provides no answer other than "unusual payment activity". 9 months of history doing the exact same process is NOT unusual.

Same thing is happening to me. I just got the card. I used it to pay for my business order. I paid it off as soon as my customers paid their invoices. I used my paypal balance for half and the other half was from my bank account. They debited the account already so they can't say they don't have the funds yet. Anyway, the available balance keeps going down every time I make a payment.

I think at this rate, I will just zero it out and not use it. It's crazy how the available balance does not update. And it's sad that it's happening to so many others 😞

For anyone finding this topic let me further add to the complaints here. I’ve been with PayPal for 15 years, nearly half my life. I’ve used them for all manner of purchases, selling online back when I did a little of that, PayPal Credit, and now PayPal Mastercard. I’ve read a few of these posts after running into similar issues and just got off the phone with a representative. The excuse I was given as to why my available balance isn’t updating was that my account is still fairly new (which it is) and I made a large payment ($500), the combination of which caused my payment to be placed on hold. This payment was made back on May 4th, it is now May 15th and I was told those funds won’t clear onto my Mastercard until May 21st. When I received this card I planned to make it my go-to card to use on everything and earn the cash back. Seeing as this is how PayPal operates I will be keeping this card just active enough to keep it open, using it more as an emergency card, and using another credit card to build credit and be a regular use card. I highly suggest anyone reading this do similar. PayPal has my payment, it’s entirely cleared my end, they instituted a hold on the funds from being returned to my card, so they have the funds already in their hands. It’s ridiculous to have to wait 17 days for the funds to become available again. Someone said this in another post and I honestly didn’t believe that would be the case. Turns out they were right, and this continually happens according to the research I’ve done and the many similar complaints I’ve found. I suggest using this card as a way to increase your overall credit limit, but use the card sparingly and don’t try to rely on it for any particular reasons. It’ll take nearly a month to get your available balance updated and able to be used.
