Ship Station issuing previously used USPS tracking numbers?

I purchased two shipping labels through Ship Station Today for my customers. One customer contacted me stating the tracking number came back to a parcel that was delivered to a different address than his back in January. I looked the number up through USPS and it appears Ship Station had indeed issued a tracking number to my label that was previously used in January. I checked the second label and it was the same case with that one! The second tracking number was previously used. This is completely unacceptable! I have voided both labels and purchased postage though a different service. How can customers have confidence in my business when they think I am defrauding them by giving them bogus tracking numbers?

I sent 9 shipments today and wasn't as smart as you to check first - 2 customers so far complained with same issue - their tracking is showing already delivered or somewhere else in the USA. haven't checked the rest of my shipments for issue. I hope these shipments continue to the destination. US Post could return them to us saying we're using postage twice.

While I'm here ... things I do not like about ShipStation:

1. Inability to tick a box to change the "FROM" zip code only  - in old system, it was really handy for creating return labels and leaving my own business address as the "from" but just changing the origin ZIP. now must create entire new address entry to get to same point and then must delete that newly-added profile from my "origin" addresses after creating the return label.

2. I cannot find a way to QUICKLY "display postage cost" on the labels (none show a cost) for those customers who need to know they got a value for their payment for shipping costs.

Hi @BiggerBullets

I can certainly understand how frustrating this has been.

Most shipping companies will reuse tracking numbers. Usually, once the item ships, the tracking number updates to the new shipment. I also recommend reaching out to the shipper to ensure they reuse tracking numbers.

I hope this information helps!

Thanks,
Tricia
